Some days I can feel me slipping away, slipping away.

Sometimes I feel like I've just wasted my day, but then I hear you say,

"Won't you let Me take you higher?"

I want to take you higher, be your heart's only desire.

I took You up on Your offer once upon a time, a long, long time ago.

But, now so broken and lonely I know there's only one place I can go.

I did that which I had vowed

never to do again.

With that blank blue face

and that angry green eye

staring at me

With the full knowledge

that what I was doing

was against Your will

You want the best for me

But I ruin it all.

Now I'm lost

Do I really have

the audacity

to ask for forgiveness

when I knew the whole time

I knew it was wrong

I knew it shouldn't have been done

Can I really ask again

for the same forgiveness

that I've asked for

a dozen times before?

Can I?
